Personal items already in use are typically duty-free. However, if they are brand new (unopened) or the quantity is excessive, customs may consider it for commercial use and require taxes. Keeping purchase receipts is recommended.

Will my European hair dryer or shaver work in Taiwan?
Only if it supports 100β240 V dual voltage. Taiwan runs on 110 V / 60 Hz with Type A/B sockets, so a 220 V-only appliance will underperform or fail. Phone and laptop chargers are almost always dual voltage β you just need a plug adapter.
Can I fly a drone in Taipei?
Not in most of the city. Taipei is inside the Songshan Airport control zone and much of it is a no-fly area; Taipei 101 and the riverside parks are restricted too. Register your drone with the CAA, check the official Drone Map app, and stick to designated zones outside the city.
