Can I bring my camera to China?
YES, in reasonable quantities for personal use. Duty-free treatment depends on traveller category, origin and total baggage value; apply the allowances and exceptions in the notes. For personal-use camera batteries, lithium-metal batteries must contain no more than 2 g lithium; lithium-ion batteries may be up to 100 Wh inclusive, or over 100 Wh up to 160 Wh inclusive with airline approval. At most two spares in the latter range are permitted. Spare batteries must stay in the cabin, individually protected against short circuits. Carry-on is recommended for cameras with installed batteries; if checked, switch the camera fully off (not sleep/hibernation), prevent accidental activation and protect it from damage. Batteries must meet UN 38.3 testing requirements; damaged, swollen or recalled batteries are prohibited. Follow the airline’s additional rules.
Do I need to declare cameras at customs?
