Can I bring my dog/cat to UK?
YES, with requirements. Need: microchip (or a clearly legible identification tattoo made on or before 3 July 2011, with the rabies vaccination given after it), rabies vaccination (wait at least 21 full days after the first vaccination, or after the last dose of a first course given in more than one dose, before travel; some vaccines take longer), a pet travel document that depends on the country you travel from (pet passport, animal health certificate or Great Britain pet health certificate; none is needed from Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man), tapeworm treatment for dogs (not needed when coming directly from Finland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Malta or Norway), and a declaration if you are not going to sell or transfer the ownership of your pet. From a country that is not in the EU and not listed, a rabies blood test is also required. Your pet may be put into quarantine for up to 4 months if you do not follow these rules, or refused entry if you travelled by sea.
