📝 Important Notes

  • •Declare all dairy: The United States allows some dairy products in personal baggage, but entry depends on the product and origin. CBP inspectors make the final decision.
  • •Cheese and butter: Butter and solid hard or soft cheese can enter from any country if the cheese contains no meat and is not pourable like ricotta or cottage cheese. Soft cheese is not automatically prohibited.
  • •Milk and formula: Most dairy from foot-and-mouth-disease countries is restricted. Exceptions include small quantities of properly labelled powdered-milk products, infant liquid milk for several days, and unopened, commercially packaged, labelled, cooked, shelf-stable finished foods. Dairy from disease-free countries needs proof of origin. Keep original labels and receipts.
  • •Scope: These are traveller-baggage rules. Mailed products are treated as commercial imports by APHIS.

❓ More Questions
